Why we built Eirly Health

Why Eirly Health exists.

We believe in one set of rails under all of health. This is what we believe, what it means depending on where you stand, and where we want it to go.

What we believe

Medicine was built to see everyone, not you

That is not a flaw in it. That is the design, and the design worked.

The greatest thing medicine ever did was prevention at scale. Clean water, vaccines, sanitation: one simple thing given to everyone the same way, and it added decades to how long people live. It worked precisely because it ignored the individual. But the things that matter most now are not average, they are personal, and a system built for the average struggles to see the one person in front of it.

Here is the part we believe much of the current gold rush has backwards. The intelligence is becoming the cheap part. Models can already reason about health better than most people expected, and they keep getting cheaper. We believe the hard part is acting in the regulated world: ordering the right test, bringing the result home and reading it against the rest of your life, involving an accountable clinician when one is needed, and being able to show afterwards that every step held up. We think that unglamorous plumbing is the durable part, so it is what we are building, and we want the easy parts to be built on top.

A test you cannot connect is a dead PDF. Australian pathology is some of the most broken plumbing in health and it pulls in everyone at once, which is why we started there. We believe the product was always the connection, the context, and what can safely be done next.

The lines we hold

Four things we believe we must not do, and why they are the product.

Refusing the easy money is not a cost we put up with. In a market built on conflicts of interest, a layer that is provably free of them is the rarest thing on offer.

01

We believe your data is yours.

It should never be sold, and never to anyone who would use it to target you.

02

We believe placement should never be sold.

Payment should never touch what gets recommended. Bloody Good Tests is our own consumer brand on the same rails, and we think that should be said wherever it is featured.

03

We believe in being honest about evidence.

We do not want to tell you what is better. We want to show you where the evidence stands, plainly, so you can choose.

04

We believe the test was never the value.

Most prevention today is a blood test wrapped in a brand and sold back to you at a premium. We want to push its cost down, because the value is your health understood over time.

If you want to understand your own health

You should not need permission to care about your own body

And you should not need a degree to make sense of it.

We are building toward one place for your results, your history and your care that belongs to you, and that reads them against you rather than against the average. We want it to explain rather than lecture, and never decide for you.

We want it to stay quiet when things are quiet and be clear when something matters, and to show what it is reasoning from so you can correct it. Where a choice can be undone we want to stay out of your way, and where it cannot, we want to slow down and make sure the decision is genuinely yours.

If you care for others

Built to make you more of what you already are

Never to replace you. The clinical judgement is always yours.

We are building so that you get the capability without building any of it and without a technical team: ordering, results in context and the connective tissue that usually breaks. Today that means commercial and Medicare bulk-bill referrals in one workflow, with clinical responsibility staying with the ordering practitioner.

We want the software to learn the way you work, your lens and your approach, rather than flattening your practice into everyone else's. We believe a clinic in any city should work with the same rails as the best-funded health company in the world.

If you build

Stop rebuilding the plumbing every health company rebuilds

Connect once, and build only the part that is yours.

The difficulty in health software was never the model. It was acting in the physical, regulated world, and most builders give up at that edge. We are building so that you connect once to ordering and structured results across Australian labs, and spend your time on your own product.

We think of it as scaffolding and guardrails. It carries part of the burden and you keep final responsibility for what you do with it. What sits underneath is neutral and your surface is yours, so a conservative clinical product and an integrative practice can build on the same rails and reach their own honest conclusions. Being listed is never an endorsement, and what you build is entirely your own.

If you make the rules

Safe and accountable by architecture, with the rulebook open

Health AI is coming whether or not it is built safely. We would rather help set a good standard than quietly comply with a poor one.

We want every action that touches the regulated world to pass through one governed layer, with policy written as code: versioned, testable and auditable, with a record of exactly which rule was in force when something happened. Saying the system decided is not an answer. The rule that was in force and the audit entry for the action are.

Inside that layer, we believe actions should be held to what they can break. Anything reversible moves freely. Anything that only goes one way, acting on the world, moving money, changing who someone is, disclosing what is private, or granting someone new powers, should carry a named decider: a versioned rule, or a named person, never a shrug. Those controls should loosen only deliberately, tighten automatically, and never disappear quietly.

We want to open the rules themselves, for transparency and for standard-setting. If that is your work too, we want to build it with you.

Where this goes

One set of rails under all of health

Global, neutral and accountable, starting with pathology and reaching outwards from there.

We started with pathology because the plumbing everyone relies on is in poor repair. Our aim is the categories beyond it, the same pattern each time, until every kind of care can be ordered, connected, understood and acted on as one thing. We believe good health infrastructure should not belong only to the richest postcodes and the best-funded clinics, and because software is global while only the physical act is local, it does not have to.

For a century, prevention saved everyone by treating us all the same. We believe the next chapter is a system that can finally see you, and still reach everyone. The science is here, the demand is here, and the only thing missing was the layer underneath.
